Article summary

Overview

ChargeLogic Payments comes with a setup wizard to help you get up and running faster. The first step is to run the Setup Wizard. From the Dynamics 365 Business Central home page, click the “Run the Setup Wizard” link in the ChargeLogic Payments activities pane under Get Started. If this is not a new installation, you may see additional cues in the ChargeLogic Payments activities pane instead of the Get Started group. If you don’t see “Run the Setup Wizard”, click the Search icon and enter “ChargeLogic Payments Setup Wizard” in the search box or use the ChargeLogic Payments link in the Assisted Setup List.

Welcome to the Setup Wizard

This will open the ChargeLogic Payments Setup Wizard. The Wizard will guide you through the process of setting up the software. Please read the instructional text on each Wizard step so that you can make the best decisions for your company. Click Next to continue.

Configuration Options

We recommend that you choose Express Settings unless you have experience setting up ChargeLogic Payments. Express Settings will configure the system using the most common options. You can always reconfigure ChargeLogic Payments later by running the Wizard again or by going directly to any of the ChargeLogic Payments setup pages in Dynamics 365 Business Central. Click Next to continue.

Company Location

The system needs to know where your company is located and what your country’s local currency is. If you are in the United States, enter “USD” in the first field for the Currency ISO Code, “USA” in the second field for the Local ISO Code, and “$” in the last field for the LCY Symbol. If you are in Canada, enter “CAD” in the first field for the Currency ISO Code, “CAN” in the second field for the Local ISO Code, and “$” in the last field for the LCY Symbol. If you are located elsewhere, use the lookups to select your ISO Codes. Click Next when you are finished.

Countries

Dynamics 365 Business Central allows you to define countries with which you do business. ChargeLogic Payments needs to know the international standard code for each country defined in Dynamics 365 Business Central. If you are using the default country definitions, the Wizard will assign the ISO Country Codes for you. Even if the Wizard has automatically filled in the ISO Codes, please review these settings to make sure that everything looks right. If you need to make any changes, you can use the lookup in the ISO Country Code field to select an international standard code from a list. Click Next when you are finished.

Currencies

Dynamics 365 Business Central allows you to define the currencies in which you transact. ChargeLogic Payments needs to know the international standard code for each currency defined in Dynamics 365 Business Central. If you are using the default currency definitions, the Wizard will assign the ISO Currency Codes for you. Even if the Wizard has automatically filled in the ISO Codes, please review these settings to make sure that everything looks right. If you need to make any changes, you can use the lookup in the ISO Currency Code field to select an international standard code from a list. Click Next when you are finished.

Units of Measure

For reporting purposes, ChargeLogic Payments needs to know the international standard code for the Units of Measure defined in your Dynamics 365 Business Central system. Because this information is only used for reporting, you can enter “PCE” into the ISO Code field for any Unit of Measure that you can’t find an appropriate code for in the lookup. If you leave the ISO Code field blank, the Wizard will automatically fill in “PCE” when you click Next. When you are finished selecting ISO Codes for Units of Measure, click Next.

Merchant Accounts

You will need your merchant account information to complete the next few steps. Make sure that the “Setup up a new account now” option is checked and click Next to continue.

Add a New Merchant Account

First, select the appropriate Gateway as indicated by your Merchant Services provider.

Enter a code and a description for your merchant account. Enter the code into the No. field and the description in the Description field. It cannot contain numeric characters if you are using Express Configuration. When you are finished, click Next.

Industry

If you are accepting credit card numbers over the phone or by mail, set your Industry to “Direct Marketing (MOTO)”. If your customers are entering their credit card numbers on your website, select “E-Commerce”. If you accept credit card number face-to-face with your customers, select “Retail”. Click Next to continue.

Live Credentials

Enter the relevant data from your merchant account setup sheet. The required information may differ from the screenshot above depending on Gateway you selected in the previous setup pages.

Test Credentials

Check the “Same as live” option to copy your credentials to this page. Click Next to continue.

Fraud Protection

ChargeLogic Payments can help you fight fraud. For each potentially fraudulent indicator, select what action you would like ChargeLogic Payments to perform. It is common to “Reverse or Cancel the Transaction” when there is “No Billing Address Match” and when there is “No CVV Match”. When you are finished, click Next.

Business Address

Enter your business’s full address. The Phone No. fields require 10 numbers and no special characters. Click Next when you are finished.

Time Zone

Choose the time zone at the location you specified in the previous step. Select whether your location observes Daylight Saving Time. Click Next to continue.

ChargeLogic Connect

If you are a ChargeLogic Connect subscriber already, enter your ChargeLogic Connect credentials. ChargeLogic Connect can help you get paid faster with Click-to-Pay, integrate your e-commerce website with Hosted Payments and Hosted Orders, and more. Click Next to continue.

Bank Account

Select the Bank Account into which the funds for your merchant account are deposited. You can use the lookup to help you. Click Next to continue.

Account Types

Place a checkmark in the Accepted field for card types that you accept. Enter the number of days that it takes to receive your funds for each card type, expressed as a Date Formula (for example, 2 days is expressed as “2D”). Click Next when you have completed this configuration.

Clearing Account

The Wizard will configure the system to clear funds through a G/L Account. Enter the Account No. to use for clearing. If the Account does not exist, the Wizard will create it. Click Next to continue.

Account Registration

The Wizard will now attempt to register and verify your merchant account information. Leave the Verify Account option enabled and click Next to continue.

You should see a confirmation screen indicating that your account was successfully verified. If there were problems with account verification, you may need to contact ChargeLogic Merchant Services support for assistance. Click Next to continue.

Merchant Account List

The Wizard will return to the Account Setup page. If you only have one merchant account, make sure that the “Set up a new account now” option is not enabled and click Next to continue. If you have another merchant account to configure, enable the “Set up a new account now” option and click Next.

Automation

ChargeLogic Payments can automate the process of accepting payments in a wide variety of areas of Dynamics 365 Business Central. Use the instructional text in the Wizard to select which options are right for your company. Click Next after you have made your selections.

Finish

The ChargeLogic Payments Setup Wizard is now complete. You can re-run the Wizard at any time by searching for “ChargeLogic Payments Setup Wizard” in the Dynamics 365 Business Central search box. Click Finish to close the Wizard.

Permission Sets

Add the ChargeLogic Payments Permission Sets to the appropriate User Groups. From the Dynamics 365 Business Central Home page, select Company Settings from the ribbon to open the Company Information page. Click the Users action in the ribbon to open the Users list. Then click Permission Set by User Group on the ribbon. Assign the EFT-SETUP Permission Set to User Groups that should be allowed to modify setup data like merchant accounts and terminals. Assign the EFT-GENERAL Permission Set to User Groups that should be allowed to process payments. This includes Sales-related User Groups.
